Whenever Fall arrives, I suddenly have the urge for cranberry everything. Cranberry cocktails. Cranberry muffins. Cranberry chocolate bark. My fixation on cranberries during the Fall always culminates with the ultimate Thanksgiving cranberry dish–cranberry sauce. It’s pretty simple to make, but so important to completing the Thanksgiving meal. Here’s my take on this simple Thanksgiving favorite.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups of fresh cranberries
- 2 tablespoons of water
- 1/2 of an orange
- 3/4 cup of brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons of honey
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, bring 1 cup of of the cranberries and the water to a low heat.
- Add in the sugar, zest the orange, and squeeze the juice of the orange into the saucepan. Then, add in the honey and stir periodically until all of the sugar has dissolved. This should take about 8-10 minutes.
- Turn the stove up to a medium heat and continue to cook the cranberries until they start to burst. This process should take about 10-12 minutes.
- Once the cranberries begin to burst, stir in the remaining cranberries, and cook the sauce for about 1-2 more minutes. Remove the sauce from the heat, pour it into a serving dish and enjoy.
