I love the holiday season. You know the type. Starts playing Christmas music and watching Hallmark movie in October. I’m THAT girl. And this love for Christmas and all things holiday season doesn’t stop with decor and movies. Oh no. It comes into the kitchen as well and my Christmas Wreath Baked Brie is one my favorite festive kitchen creations. I mean, how can you go wrong with puff pastry, brie and guava jam. It’s a holiday party on a platter. Enough talking about it. Let’s get cooking.

Ingredients
- 2 sheets of puff pastry (defrosted and at room temperature)
- 4-5oz of brie
- 1/2 cup of guava jam (room temperature)
- 1 large egg
- Candied cranberries (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Take one of the sheets of puff pastry, place it onto a piece of parchment paper and turn a medium sized mixing bowl, face down onto the pastry sheet. Using a sharp knife or pastry wheel, go around the rim of the bowl to cut out a circle. Remove the excess pastry and bowl and set them aside. You should now have a puff pastry circle.
- Place a small bowl or ramekin dish face down in the center of your pastry circle. Then, using a knife or a pastry wheel, cut the pastry following around the rim of the ramekin dish. Place the ramekin dish to the side and carefully remove the inner circle of the large pastry circle. Your pastry sheet should now look like a tire or in this case, a wreath.
- Using a small spoon, spread the guava jam onto the pastry wreath. (Feel free to swap the guava jam for whatever flavor you have on hand.) Then, slice the brie into slivers and lay each sliver onto to the wreath leaving about 1/2 inch of space between the slivers.
- Take the second pastry sheet and cut it horizontally so that you have two rectangles. You will only be using the top half of the second pastry sheet. Start at the top left corner of the sheet and make a diagonal line. Then from the bottom of that line, make a diagonal line going up and to the right. It should look like you cut the letter "v" into the puff pastry. Continue that v-cut process until you have six triangles.
- Carefully remove one of the triangles. Tuck the base of the triangle under the center of the wreath and then fold the triangle over the wreath, tucking the point under the outer edge. Repeat this process, evenly spacing out the triangles around the wreath so that they are symmetrical.
- In a small bowl, crack the egg into the bowl, discard the shell and then whisk together the egg. Using a pastry brush, gently brush the egg wash onto the puff pastry. Carefully lift the parchment paper onto a baking sheet. Place the wreath into the oven for about 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Use a spatula to help separate the wreath from the parchment paper if some of the jam has spread onto the parchment paper. Place the wreath onto a serving board and, if desired, garnish the center with candied cranberries, then serve and enjoy.
